What problems do wildlife cause?

Most of the calls we get are because homeowners hear animals scurrying around inside the attic or walls. Most of the damage inside a houes or attic is unseen. Rodents like squirrels, mice, and rats often chew on electrical wires. Wildlife such as raccoons, bats, birds, opossums, and rats spread several diseases that humans can and do catch, such as Histoplasmosis, Salmonella, Leptospirosis and more. Many critters leave droppings and urine in an attic or cause mold or odor problems. We also handle animals outside the house. It could be a critter that has dug a large hole next to your house, or a raccoon in your garbage cans, an opossum that is stealing pet food, or a skunk living under your deck, causing an odor problem. Some animals destroy your garden or landscaping. Or perhaps you are simply scared of snakes. Whatever the problem is, our wildlife experts can remove the source of the problem, and prevent it from happening again. We are not a Lansing extermination company, nor pest control. Canada Geese And Their Links With People

The revival of the Canada Goose as a species is one of the most remarkable stories of turning around the fate of the species, but this has brought some unforeseen consequences. The Canada Goose was starting to become an endangered species, but projects to revive their population has seen the population boom over recent Lansing bird control decades. This has led to large populations of these geese to be found in both urban and rural locations, as long as they are close to a body of water where they can swim.

The Human Health Hazards Related To Canada Geese
There are a number of issues that can arise when these geese make an area near people their home, and one of the biggest issues is the amount of droppings that they produce. Geese will make their home near to a body of water where they can use for swimming and this means that they are particularly prone to transmitting diseases that are naturally water-borne such as giardia. They can also transmit diseases such as e-coli, listeria and salmonella which can all cause nasty problems such as diarrhea. Canada Geese have also been shown to be at risk of contracting avian flu, but transmission to humans is only likely to happen in those people that are in regular contact with the animals.

As well as the problems with disease, Canada Geese can also have other effects for humans, and with each goose capable of producing a pound and a half of feces every day, any area where they are resident can be very slippery and dirty. They can also be territorial and may not take kindly to humans in their area. Attacks on humans are still rare, but they can cause nasty bruises when they do attack. Although Canada Geese are traditionally migratory birds, there is a greater percentage of their Lansing raccoon removal population that is now becoming resident in one area.

Are Canada Geese Able To Be Domesticated?
There are a number of people that will keep a flock of geese on their property, and they will to an extent be domesticated. By this they will see the person as a source of food and a benevolent Lansing snake removal force, and will not automatically think of them as a threat. This can take quite a lot of time for the relationship to build, and it is fair to say that such a project will only really be suitable for those who will have a patch of land that the Canada Geese will be attracted to.

Canada Geese are certainly not pets though, and it is wise not to approach the geese if you are unfamiliar with them in case they do react aggressively. For those who are considering keeping the animals as pets, they are not particularly suited to being domestic pets because of the volume of dropping they produce. There are also a number of Lansing rat control regulations about keeping wild animals as pets, and this can vary from state to state.

In terms of their diet, most geese will eat grasses and other plant life, but they will often be fed with hen feed or another form of grain by those who do keep a domestic flock of Canada Geese. The practicality of keeping Canada Geese really means that only a small number of people will be suited to it.

Coping With The Problems Caused By Canada Geese
There are a number of Lansing bat removal issues facing those groups that have to deal with Canada Geese on a regular basis, and these will often include park wardens and golf club managers, as these are particularly popular places for geese to nest. The population is continuing to grow, and finding a solution to manage where they live is something that is increasingly becoming a challenge that is dealt with by innovative Lansing rodent extermination wildlife control professionals.
